DescriptionL-Isoleucine, also known as I, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as isoleucine and derivatives. Isoleucine and derivatives are compounds containing isoleucine or a derivative thereof resulting from reaction of isoleucine at the amino group or the carboxy group, or from the replacement of any hydrogen of glycine by a heteroatom. Thus, L-isoleucine is considered to be a fatty acid lipid molecule. L-Isoleucine exists as a solid, very hydrophobic, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral molecule. L-Isoleucine exists in all living species, ranging from bacteria to humans. L-Isoleucine is a potentially toxic compound.
